What You’ll Be Doing
Team Overview
As an intern, you’ll join a team that focuses on building next-generation software solutions across multiple platforms – from desktop and mobile to cloud and security environments. You’ll contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of software products, tools, and infrastructure that power the technology ecosystem.
CISCO Hiring Your responsibilities may include:
- Designing and developing software components and systems.
- Debugging and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Working on operating systems, compilers, routers, network utilities, and internet technologies.
- Evaluating hardware compatibility and influencing system design.
CISCO Hiring Internship Track Options
1. Networking Protocols Development
- Strong foundation in computer science and a passion for technology.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching concepts.
- Exposure to networking tools and debugging techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with security protocols such as IPS/IDS, VPNs, TLS, etc., is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python and other scripting/programming languages.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and testing mindset.
2. Application Software Development
- Proficiency in software engineering principles and object-oriented programming.
- Strong skills in Python and other programming/scripting languages.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Interest or experience in UI/UX, cloud scaling, or mobile app development is a bonus.
- Experience with open-source tools and debugging applications is beneficial.
3. Embedded & Systems Software Development
- Strong programming fundamentals, particularly in system-level coding.
- Understanding of OS concepts, kernel, and user/system space.
- Experience or exposure to device drivers and BSPs is a plus.
- Familiarity with system-level debugging tools and techniques.
- Creative problem-solving and effective troubleshooting skills.
