American Express Hiring Role Overview: How Will You Make a Difference?

As a 6050W & Suspense Customer Care Professional, you’ll engage with American Express merchants, client managers, and partners primarily through written communication, and occasionally over the phone. Your goal will be to collect essential U.S. tax-related documentation, as well as perform detailed reviews of suspense accounts, particularly for UK and multi-currency records.

This role is part of a key initiative within Global Commercial Group (GCG) and Global Merchant Services (GMS). It requires strong organizational abilities, critical analysis of financial and legal documents, and a keen awareness of the sensitive nature of customer data. Upholding data integrity and following strict procedures for document storage and compliance is a must.

You’ll help ensure we remain fully compliant with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations by maintaining accurate merchant tax information. This initiative is especially important in the EMEA region and involves regular interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.

Experience working in a regulated environment will be considered an asset.


American Express Hiring Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in delivering quality customer service
  • Excellent written communication skills, especially in email and formal correspondence
  • A proactive and supportive approach to customer interactions
  • Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets
  • Some knowledge of merchant operations and U.S. tax regulations (preferred but not required)
